Tani Jhubbar Lake

Someone told me that Tani Jhubbar Lake is a small lake with a big name. It takes a small detour of about 500 meters on way to the Hatu Peak from Narkanda to reach this lovely lake. Yes, it is a small oval shaped lake that you can go around in 10-15 minutes at a leisurely pace. The trees all around the lake reflect in its quite waters. Sometimes it looks like the trees use the lake as their mirror and admire their own reflections in it. The symmetry of the lake when viewed from one end creates perfect scenery in front of your eyes. At another end of Tani Jhubbar Lake is located Nag Devta Temple. A simple one-room temple in green has a pillared corridor all around it and a slanted stone roof. Inside the temple, there is an empty room and an idol locked behind the metal door. Together with the lake, this temple gives a good point for the visitors to have a small picnic. Many trekkers trek to Tani Jhubbar Lake from Narkanda, which is about 12 km from here, and then relax here by the lake. Tani Jhubbar is an artificial lake and not a natural lake like many others found in Himalayas.
