Did you ever expect to see hundreds of penis sculptures and carvings in the middle of the city? We didn’t either, but at the Shrine of Goddess Tubtim, that’s exactly what you see. Did you ever expect to see hundreds of penis sculptures and carvings in the middle of the city? We didn’t either, but at the Shrine of Goddess Tubtim, that’s exactly what you see. Here women come to make special offerings to the fertility Goddess Tubtim who is believed to help those trying to get pregnant and watch over those giving birth. The women will come with flower blossoms, gifts of jewellery and beautiful dresses for the goddess, and penises. Surprisingly, while the colourful shrine is located in the center of the city of the grounds of the 5-star Swissotel Nai Lert Park Hotel, it still seems like many travellers, including even some guests of the hotel, don’t know about the penis-filled garden. But, if you know where to look, it’s not hard to miss with hundreds of phallic shapes throughout the complex ranging from tiny carved penises to free-standing statues several feet high. If you don’t need to make an offering to the goddess in hopes of a brand new baby, you’ll at least be able to get some interesting pictures, and a good story, to go home and tell your friends about!
