November's greatest trips in India
It's November, the most magical time of the year. There's a sudden nip in the air that has made the outdoors and trips all the more inviting too. This is also the time for some of the mega festivals in India, with a lot of vacations coming up the calendar, and many chances to plan a trip and get out.
If you are also in love with November and are planning a holiday, we have listed our favourites places to visit in India in November; places that are no less than magic.
Delhi
Well, what better time to explore Delhi than November. The harsh summers have ended and the extremely cold winters are yet to sink in. This is also the time when a number of festivals and Diwali fairs are also held in the capital. Indeed a great time to be here!
Garhwal Himalayas
While we cannot ever choose between Garhwal and Kumaon, let's just pick Garhwal for the sheer charm it has, with places like Nainital, Mukteshwar, Almora, Kasar Devi and Binsar. The ambiance here is timeless.
Goa
While there is no wrong time to visit Goa, November is when it gets balmy and pleasant and still does not see the huge crowd that descends here in December. Hotel tariffs are still lower than December, occupancy is easy to get and the days are beautifully balmy.
Mysuru
While Mysuru is best-visited during Mysore Dassara, it is just the place to start your trip in Karnataka. November makes it a great time to explore around both the hill towns as well as beaches and hinterlands.
Jawai
Jodhpur
Go exploring the royal city of Jodhpur this November for afternoons full of shopping, great food, real-life lessons in history, architecture and a lot more. Daytime in November is a respite from sweltering summer heat and one can easily roam around outdoors and make easy excursions to Bishnoi Village and Pali as well.
Kanha National Park
November is also the perfect time to go chasing the big cats at Kanha National Park, before December makes it bitterly cold here. Of course, the forest here is unforgettable even if you do not spot one of its many habitants.
Amritsar
If visiting the Golden Temple has been on your mind for long, November is just the time to visit the city of Amritsar. There's no experience like this; plus, the famous chole-kulche, lassi, sarso ki roti, all of it is rightly famous too.
Kerala
Kolkata
Kolkata in November is just out of its humid spell, and you can explore the ancient lanes and heritage of this city at ease. Durgo Pujo's remains are still to be seen here, with Diwali's buzz about to pick pace.
