Therefore, the new entry fee will especially target these day trippers and cruise ship holidaymakers. From now on, a visitor will have to pay a minimum fee of 2.50 euros (INR 200), which is expected to rise between 5 to 10 euros during the peak months. And this new development is expected to generate 50 million euros a year as compared to 30 million euros that Venice currently makes from tourist taxes.
