Built in 14th century under Prince Lazar of Serbia, the fortified structure of Ravanica Monastery church boasts unique external facade with five domes. The Ravnica and Manasija monasteries are dedicated to Serbian Orthodox Church. They now belong to the Morava School of Serbian Medieval Arts. Built in 14th century under Prince Lazar of Serbia, the fortified structure of Ravanica Monastery church boasts unique external facade with five domes. The red stone structure stands tall against the gorgeous lush green countryside. The interior is lined with vivid frescos, including the Communion of the Apostles, and the Adoration of the Lamb by the great artist Constantine. The Tomb of Tsar Lazar located inside the church is decorated with iconostasis and frescoes. Just 30 km from Ravnica, the Manasija Monastery was built around 15th century by Despot Stefan Lazarević, son of Tsar Lazar. The Church of Holy Trinity stands tall with five domes perched on top of the fortified stone walls. The church holds the Tomb of despot Stefan Lazarević. The monastery is surrounded by fortified walls with twelve towers, and these are considered the best preserved medieval fortification in Serbia.
