IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) has now come up with some new and exciting South India tour packages, which also includes a Pongal vacation special (under Bharat Darshan Special Train Tours).
Name of special trains
The special train packages include Pongal vacation special, North Kerala Special, South Kerala, Mookambika Special and Ratha Sapthami Special. These 5-day tours will give an opportunity to the travellers to explore the neighbouring states at an affordable price.
About the Pongal special train (From 22nd January – 26th January)
The Pongal Special train will depart from Madurai and will go through Dindigul, Trichy, Vriddhachalam, Villupuram and Chennai Egmore. It will also cover a few interesting places in Karnataka, including Nanjangud, Melkote, Srirangapatna, Talacauvery, Coorg and Mysore.
About the North Kerala special train (From 22nd January – 26th January)
The North Kerala special train will depart from Madurai and will go through Dindigul, Trichy Vriddhachalam, Villupuram and Chennai Egmore. The trip will cover places including Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kasargod.
About the Mookambika special train (From 22nd January – 26th January)
The Mookambika special train will depart from Dindigul, Trichy, Vriddhachalam, Chennai Egmore, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Podanur, Palakkad, Shoranur, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasargod. The trip will cover places including Murudeshwar, Kollur, Mookambika, Sringeri, Horanadu and Dharmasthala.
About the Ratha Sapthami Special train (From 9th February – 13th February)
The Ratha Sapthami Special will begin from Madurai and will go through Dindigul, Karur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi and Perambur. The trip will also cover places including Dwaraka Tirumala, Simhachalam, Srikurmam and Annavaram.
