The Met has launched a virtual exhibition for all to see

Art in the time of pandemic is a whole different ball-game. We are unable to visit our favourite galleries, artists are unable to display their work properly, and galleries are running empty. But galleries and museums are trying their best to make things work. The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has taken such a step; the museum has set up a virtual art exhibition that is interactive in nature. The Met has also produced augmented reality versions of the best art pieces present here. So, you will find the art pieces coming to life.
Called The Met Unframed, the digital gallery programme has been created in partnership with Verizon. A few of the art pieces will come to life with the help of the augmented reality technology, and you even have a gaming experience. Moreover, the Met Unframed exhibition is also going to have digitally rendered galleries, and almost fifty works of art from the entire Met collection.


The exhibition is going to run for five weeks, and is free for all. You have some of the stalwarts from the world of art here at the exhibition. Namely, Mark Bradford, Sam Gilliam, Carmen Herrera, and Ek Anatsui. Some of the important works here are the 14th century Chinese mural that depicts the Buddha of Medicine, and the Temple of Dendur.
If you happen to catch the exhibition, you will be in for a surprise as there are some fun games in store for you. You will get the opportunity to answer trivia questions, and riddles. Not only this, but there is also a Zoom and Spot challenge, which will allow you to observe the various works of art, and also read any descriptions and content regarding them. There is also a game called Analysis, wherein you will be given the underdrawings of famous paintings, as well as other hidden details.
