Considering the rise in film and Television shoots in Madhya Pradesh, the state tourism department has planned to promote film tourism to encourage tourist footfall.
Kidwai also expressed his delight in the fact that the film fraternity is travelling to Madhya Pradesh repeatedly in the last few years. He stated that such frequent visits are good for boosting tourism in the state. Noting that Bollywood film makers prefer Madhya Pradesh over other destinations, Kidwai said that it is primarily because of the beauty and hospitality of the state.
News has it about 200 movie projects from Bollywood and Hollywood as well as web series have been shot in Madhya Pradesh. In 2020, several Hindi and Tamil movies, television series for an Indian channel and other projects have been scheduled to be shot in the heart of India. There are minimum 10 Hindi movies shot in Indore city along and they are Youngistaan, Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya, Kinara and others. Madhya Pradesh government had also announced that all film makers will be offered subsidy on shooting if they choose to film their movie in MP.
