A small picturesque village known for its ancient temples, Dwarahat is a must-visit or your Ranikhet vacation. Among many temples scattered over the place, Dunagiri Temple stands out as one of the most important one. Tourists not only from Ranikhet but also from Kausani and Almora also come to visit this place. Located on a small hillock amidst the Kumaon Hills, this shrine is dedicated to goddess Durga. Visitors are required to climb a stairway of 500 steps to reach the temple. Apart from Dunagiri Temple, travellers can also pay a visit to Pandavkholi, a place where the Pandavas from the Mahabharata spent some time during their exile. Another important tourist point in Dwarahat is the primeval Vimandeshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. According to Puranic legends, Vimandeshwar Temple is the second home to Lord Shiva after the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi!Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
