With Delhi and its neighbouring cities are struggling to tackle the scorching heat this summer, most people are trying to escape the heat by driving up to the hills. And since this has been continuing for some days, roads to leading up to the hills have been choked due to over-traffic, forcing people to drive back before reaching their destination. To tackle this issue of traffic jams in Manali, the administration has now enforced one-way traffic system in the town from today onwards. Read less
As per the officials, this might force people to drive some extra distance, which will help them to save their precious time and reduce jam too. The vehicles will be able to enter the town via the national highway only from the south side, and entry from other roads has been stopped.
The magistrate also mentioned that as parking has become a major problem in Manali, some space in available parking lots will be kept reserved for tourists. And the police will be taking strict action on idle parking and will tow away such vehicles.
