A more haunting and poetic tribute to the great Irish writer is the James Joyce museum Dun Loaghaire, 12 km to the South of Dublin along the coast. The museum has various exhibits including rare editions of the Ulysses and things he used. Joyce stayed here briefly in a room on the upper floor which has been recreated from his time. This is also the location which is supposed to have served as the setting for the opening scene of Ulysses.
