Few structures stand out more prominently in the Istanbul skyline than the magnificent Galata Tower. Originally constructed in the mid-1300s, it was the tallest building town for several centuries, and still to this day reigns high over all of the neighbouring buildings on the northern shore.
While the 360-degree view is magnificent, the admission price to the viewing deck has increased repeatedly over the years, as have the queues. If you are on a time or budget restraint, this might be one destination to think twice about.
