Kedarnath Temple
Kedarnath Temple is set in the high Himalayas of Uttarakhand and is one of the most famous temples in the country. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and is believed to have been built by the Pandavas. It is one of the Char Dham temples and sees lakhs of visitors every summer.
Lingaraj Temple
This famous temple is Bhubaneshwar is also dedicated to Lord Shiva. It was built during the 10th century and is an architectural landmark as well. The central tower of the temple is a mammoth 180 ft!
Meenakshi Amman Temple
This beautiful temple is set in the city of Madurai in Tamil Nadu. It is more than 2500 years old and was built by Pandya king, Kulasekara Pandya. It is also one of the shaktipeethas, and is much revered.

Shore Temple
Shore Temple is a complex, overlooks the Bay of Bengal and is also a sight to behold. The stunning structure is built from rocks from the 8th century, and is believed to be the oldest structural temple of significance in South India.
Somnath Temple
Somnath Temple stands in the Indian state of Gujarat and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed to be the first of 12 jyotirilingas in the country. It is also famous for its rich architecture and was once adorned with precious and semi-precious jewels, attracting the 17 attacks by Ghazni.
Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple
This temple is Kerala is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is famously believed as the world's richest Hindu temple. It is also one of the 108 divya desams dedicated to the deity. Visiting it is an unforgettable experience.

Triyuginarayan Temple
This ancient temple is in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district. Surprisingly not as famous as the other temples on this list, it has followers coming in from all over the world. It is believed to be the place where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati married each other; couples and newly-weds from all over the world visit it to seek blessings.
