Nervi

Nervi is one of the suburbs of Genoa. It is just 15 km from the city centre. A short and convenient train ride gets visitors to Nervi within minutes. Once there, you will notice a spectacular change in scenery. Genoa’s hustle-bustle gives way to the slow rhythm of the countryside. The walk along the seaside promenade (Passeggiata Anita Garibaldi) is the most famous thing about Nervi, and rightly so. The curvy footpath overlooks dramatic cliffs and the turquoise waters of the sea. It’s one of the prettiest walks in Italy. There are a few small beaches along the way—they’re never too crowded and provide the perfect excuse to spend a lazy day under the Italian sun
There are four museums in Nervi—it’s easy to find clock exhibits at Museo Giannettino Luxoro, architectural drawings and sketches at The Wolfsoniana and renowned 19th and 20th century paintings at Galleria d’Arte Moderna. For outdoorsy tourists, Parchi di Nervi provides the perfect respite. Parco Villa Grimaldi is home to over 2000 types of roses in the summer months. Here in Nervi, the air is subtly fragranced with sea salt, roses, and romance.
