The Totally Thames Festival 2018 is going to be an exciting festival for Indians, especially for those from Bengal. According to reports, Totally Thames Festival 2018 is going to showcase Durga Puja festival on the Thames River. So those NRIs in the UK, and people planning to visit London, are in for a special Durga Puja 2018.
Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister, West Bengal, said in a statement, "We will be showcasing Bengal's Durga puja festival in the UK by organising cultural programmes on Thames River from August 13 to September 18 as part of the cultural exchange programme."
Besides showcasing Durga Puja 2018 at the Totally Thames Festival 2018, Kolkata will also host a river festival similar to the one held in Thames, London.
Totally Thames 2018 is going to be held from September 1 to 30, 2018, and is going to bring in diverse cultural programmes to enthrall guests. With this year’s inclusion of Bengal’s famous Durga Puja, it has the potential to attract a lot more Indian visitors, and probably influence UK residents to visit India.
Chief Minister Banerjee also said, "Like Thames, we have the Ganga (Hooghly River). So we can also similarly celebrate one of their (UK's) important festivals on our riverside in future.
