Kumbhalgarh Fort is not only an architectural marvel but also has great historical significance. It played an important role in the history of Rajasthan and was the birthplace of Maharana Pratap, one of the most famous rulers of the Mewar kingdom.
Kumbhalgarh Fort is one of the six hill forts in Rajasthan. Together, they are a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. The six hill forts are – Chittor Fort in Chittorgarh, Kumbhalgarh Fort in Rajsamand, Ranthambore Fort in Sawai Madhopur, Gagron Fort in Jhalawar, Amer Fort in Jaipur, and Jaisalmer Fort in Jaisalmer.
