Earth Hour 2024: Hyderabad landmarks to go dark on March 23
Earth Hour, an annual initiative orchestrated by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), is scheduled for March 23 this year, spanning from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Participants worldwide, including individuals, communities, and businesses, are urged to switch off non-essential lights and electrical appliances for the duration of this hour. This symbolic gesture serves as a collective commitment to environmental preservation and sustainability.
Earth Hour is an annual event organised by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). This year the Earth Hour will be observed on March 23, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. During Earth Hour, individuals, communities, and businesses are encouraged to turn off non-essential lights and electrical appliances for one hour, as a symbol of commitment to the planet.
The event aims to raise awareness about climate change and the need to take action to protect the environment. It started in Sydney, Australia in 2007 as a symbolic lights-out event and has since grown into a global movement involving millions of people in over 190 countries and territories.
These iconic landmarks in Hyderabad will go dark on March 23, during Earth Hour.

Buddha Statue in Hussain Sagar

Golconda Fort
