Ranthambore National Park is home to 40 species of mammals, 330 species of birds and 35 species of reptiles. Most popular attractions are tigers, leopards, striped hyenas, caracals, sloth bears, and black bucks to name a few. Ranthambore’s biggest attractions are the tigers, around 80 of them in total. But that’s not the only exciting thing about the park. The park is also home to animals like leopard, sloth bear, jackal, and approximately 320 species of both resident as well as migratory birds.
Here’s all you need to know about Ranthambore National Park.
- Ranthambore National Park is home to 40 species of mammals, 330 species of birds and 35 species of reptiles. Most popular attractions are tigers, leopards, striped hyenas, caracals, sloth bears, and black bucks to name a few.
- Winter is a great time to visit Ranthambore National Park because a large number of migratory birds visit the area. The park has three important wetlands – Padam Talao, Malik Talao and Rajbagh Talao – where you will find most of these birds.
- Book jeep safaris in advance because only a limited number of jeeps are allowed inside the park in a day. Last minute booking may or may not get you a safari slot! Jeep safaris are available between 1st October and 30th June.
- Both morning (6:30 AM to 10:00 AM) and afternoon (2:30 PM to 6:00 PM) are good but if you are keen on bird watching, go for the morning one. Both timings are good for tiger sightings.

Only safari vehicles can enter Ranthambore National Park. INR 1800 per passenger for a jeep safari; INR 1300 per passenger for a canter safari. - Is morning safari better than the afternoon safari at Ranthambore National Park?
