These temples, dating back to the 8th century, are a hidden gem near the more popular Mcleodganj. When here, you’ll be awed by their intricate carvings and awe-inspiring design.
Carved out of a monolithic rock, the Masroor Rock Cut Temples, much of the temple’s structure has been damaged.

These are believed to have been built by the Pandavas while they were travelling through these mountains; historically, these are said to be from the 7th and 8th centuries. Also, it is said that it must have likely been built by the Katoch Dynasty, although the information available is very limited. These temples are true architectural wonders, and have been intricately carved. These are adorned with incredibly detailed sculptures portraying a variety of deities, including Surya, Shiva, Indra, Kartikeya, and you will find numerous goddess forms too.
