Delhi railway stations to receive major renovations, state-of-the-art facilities

News reports suggest that the New Delhi Railway Station, along with other Delhi railway stations is soon going to be revamped. Indian Railways has been working to include state-of-the-art facilities at the railway stations in Delhi.
According to sources, the total cost that has been sanctioned for improving New Delhi Railway Station is INR 8.5 lakh, while it is INR 8 lakh for Old Delhi station. There is going to be some major improvements at the stations, including escalators, and improved platform surfaces. A budget has also been allotted for the improvement of a suburban Delhi Railway system, called the Ring Railway Route.
In addition, there are some more changes as well. One other development project that is being considered is to start a centre for a railway information system that is likely to come up in Chanakyapuri. It is estimated to cost INR 20 lakhs. The National Rail Museum is also going to go through renovations soon, which would include the upkeep and maintenance of the museum.
This particular project is going to cost INR 60 lakhs.
The renovations that the Delhi railway stations are going through would help them become more attractive to travellers, not to forget they would help travellers. The state-of-the-art facilities are going to support the Indian Railways Delhi stations to provide better service.
Also, a new railway line will be constructed between Delhi and Alwar.
