Fateh Nagar Gurudwara

Fateh Nagar Gurudwara
One of the popular places of worship in West Delhi, the Chhote Sahibzadey Gurudwara is also known as Fateh Nagar Gurudwara. The gurudwara was earlier the residence of an elderly woman, and it is believed that she dreamt of Sikh Gurus (Sahibzada Zoravar Singh Ji and Sahibzada Fateh Singh Ji, sons of Guru Gobind Ji) advising her to turn her abode into a place of worship. Located in a market place, it is flanked by many devotees at all times of the day offering prayers. While the architecture of the gurudwara loosely resembles that of the Golden Temple, it is not as big as the latter and also does not have a water body that usually characterizes a gurudwara. While Delhi is home to several other and bigger gurudwaras, the Fateh Nagar Gurudwara is very popular among the residents of Tilak Nagar and its neighbouring areas. Despite being a small place of worship, it conducts a langar on a daily basis. The gurudwara committee is involved in a lot of charity work and conducts classes for underprivileged children as well. The gurudwara can be reached easily from the Tilak Nagar Metro station.
