From vibrant local fairs to pedestrianised avenues to small boutiques, shopping in Buenos Aires offers something for everyone. To experience local culture, visit Buenos Aires’ biggest antiques fair Feria de San Pedro Telmo and the folk fair La Feria de Matadores. While the former tends to be touristy, the latter is a more authentic celebration of country life, with folk dances, music and rural food specialities. The city’s main commercial street Calle Florida is entirely pedestrian and a great stretch for browsing through local shoe, jewellery and leather shops; while the Calle Gurruchaga stretch is devoted entirely to menswear. Buenos Aires has its share of quirky stores as well, whether its the kitschy home décor shop L’ Argo, or the cool bookstore and café Boutique del Libro.
