Stavropoleos Church is actually a monastery built in 1724 in Brâncovenesc style and is dedicated to St. Archangels Michael and Gabriel. The funds for its construction were curiously raised from the income of a close-by inn. Earthquakes and human decisions left nothing of the original monastery apart from the church itself.
