Under the AYUSH programme, traditional medicines and healing practices will be encouraged. Practitioners of both modern medicines and AYUSH are expected to work together to make India the preferred Medical Value Travel destination.
It is important to note that Medical Value Travel is not only for wellness, it branches out to many other therapeutic procedures such as spiritual and yoga retreats. There are many visitors from overseas who visit India for these specific retreats.
A lot of Indian destinations like Uttarakhand, Kerala, Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka already have health, spiritual and yoga retreats.
Now that the Ayush Visa is slated to get rolled out in a few months time, India can expect even more overseas visitors. Various states are working towards developing new Medical Value Travel destinations.
