Kiran Mehta

Kiran calls Mumbai home, but is never far from her next trip. Her job involves zipping across the globe, but she insists it is hard work. She has checked into ashrams, lived with strangers in Europe, and tried her hand at extreme sports in Australia, etc., all in an effort to bring you back a story. In addition to the Times Group, she has contributed to National Geographic Traveller (India), Hindustan Times, Spenta Multimedia, The Hindu etc., where she recounts her globe-trotting adventures.

If you're a sea-food lover, this is where you want to go. Set within the charming Dutch Hospital precinct, this restaurant is almost always full and booking a table is recommended. Fragrant, mouth-watering spices are smeared over plump king prawns, local fish is fried in a variety of herbs and spices, local crabs are doused in aromatic curries, and just a whiff is enough to draw you to the eatery. The restaurant concentrates on local produce and tries its best to rely only on home-grown ingredients.

Dig into the fresh catch of the day or opt for local staples. Chilli crab, pepper crab and baked crab are their signature dishes. But whatever you decide to go with on this menu, you just can't go wrong here. Beware though that a meal here is pricey. But it is worth every paisa.
