Generator Hostel (formerly known as Ostello Venezia) is a stylishly designed hostel located on the shore of Giudecca Island in a renovated 19th century grain warehouse. This characterful and sociable hostel is just a few “vaporetto” (water bus) stops away from Venice’s main attractions like St. Mark’s Square and is conveniently located to explore the other neighboring islands by vaporetto.
The hostel offers well-furnished mixed and female dormitories as well as private twin, triple and quad rooms. The dorms start at 16 Euros per bed per night and are great for those on a budget, or those whi like to meet other people on their travels. They also have great common areas for socializing and most rooms even have a view.
The hostel is super clean, artistic and cozy and beautiful views of La Salute Church and the Piazza San Marco. There is also free Wi-Fi, a travel shop and a bar on the property making it one of the best affordable stays in Venice. Not surprisingly, it is popular, so book your bed well in advance.
