It is one of the most popular museums to visit in Scotland and it is smart to dedicate at least half a day to exploring it. Housed in a former airfield, it is located at just a couple miles outside of the city. Two hangers have been transformed into an experience for anyone and it is here that visitors will find Europe’s best collection of aircrafts. Inside the hangers, visitors have the opportunity to get up, close and personal with Scotland’s Concorde—the first BA Concorde to offer commercial flights. A free audio tour is included with commentary from a former Concorde pilot. The hangers also tell the story of the past 100 years in aviation, both civil and military with aircrafts, documents, uniforms and photographs. This museum promises to keep both adults and kids occupied and happy for at least a few hours.
