Osteria Al Bacareto is a long standing family run restaurant that specialises in traditional Venetian dishes and seafood, situated only slightly off the beaten path, near Campo San Stefano. Al Bacareto is usually pretty busy, mostly with locals, but they do also have a menu in English too. There is both a sit down restaurant service, and also a bar where quick breakfasts, local cicchetti and drinks are served. The place specialises in seafood, the sardines here are said to be the best in Venice, and the cod dishes are also great. There’s a good selection of local wines too and they can cater for special dietary requirements and even have a menu especially for celiacs. The tables outside are a nice quiet to sit and enjoy a meal.
