Just adjacent to the French Quarter but considered to be a part of it is the Washington Square Park. It is located at 700 Elysian Fields and is more famous as being an extension of Frenchmen Street in that it is well known as a music venue. The verdant park is sprawling and spacious and is a great hangout and a favourite place to meet friends, or just a calm spot to sit alone and enjoy nature as well as listen to some fabulous music. It is also a great family outing place and it is common to see walkers, joggers, families with children and people walking their dogs in the park. Besides which, the park has also gained reputation as the venue for special events such as music festivals, concerts, art fairs.
