Savi and Vid

Savi and Vid have been to over 500 cities in 70 countries, following their love of offbeat and luxury travel. From hiking glaciers in Alaska to dining with Penguins in South Africa, their adventures and photographs have been featured on several TV stations and newspapers, including Discovery Channel and the Huffington Post. They are particularly in love with road trips and in the last year alone, they’ve driven over 20,000 miles in a dozen countries. They write about their experiences on www.bruisedpassports.com.

Temple Tree is located right next to Bon Ton and is operated by the same management. The concept, however, is different. Different buildings of Chinese, Malay, Indian, and Eurasian ancestry have been restored and converted into villas. Each villa has three to four rooms and can be rented as a whole or as individual rooms. As with Bon Ton, the complex has a pool overlooking lush open fields making this one of the most peaceful hotels in Langkawi. Utmost attention has been devoted to restore each room in each building according to its traditional style. Luxurious beds and bathtubs ensure that guests get the comfort they desire. The rooms are super, spacious and exude an old-worldly charm that transports the guests back to the early 20th century.

The Straits club houses the in-house bar and restaurant, and the guests have a choice of enjoying their meals on the restaurant’s verandah or by the pool. The staff, like most of the people on the island, is extremely friendly and courteous. If you are staying at Temple Tree, make sure you walk across to the sister resort Bon Ton to enjoy an evening at the Nam restaurant.
