Savi and Vid
Savi and Vid have been to over 500 cities in 70 countries, following their love of offbeat and luxury travel. From hiking glaciers in Alaska to dining with Penguins in South Africa, their adventures and photographs have been featured on several TV stations and newspapers, including Discovery Channel and the Huffington Post. They are particularly in love with road trips and in the last year alone, they’ve driven over 20,000 miles in a dozen countries. They write about their experiences on www.bruisedpassports.com.
If riads just aren’t your thing, look this way. Les Jardins d’Issil offers an experience like no other. Here a cluster of 15 tents surrounds an infinity pool. Don’t be fooled by the word tent – this is camping taken to the next level. Each tent is fully air-conditioned and boasts of a sitting area, en-suite bathroom, and dining area. The complex is nestled in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains and is probably the most peaceful hotel in all of Marrakech.
It’s well connected to the central souks but the location makes it easy to plan trips to the Moroccan countryside – escape to the Atlas Mountains, sample life at Berber villages, photograph cherry and walnut trees, or just hike up to a waterfall.
The unique glamorous camping resort is the brainchild of French owners Patrick and Ghislaine. The air here is laden with tranquility – perfect if you want to get away from it all.
