The charming city of Abu Dhabi is a popular tourist destination in the UAE. Capital of the nation, Abu Dhabi is nestled on an island in the Persian gulf. Dubai often takes the prime slot when it comes to vacation plans in UAE but Abu Dhabi has its own pulls for the discerning traveller. The stunning edifice is not only an architectural marvel but also one of the largest mosques in the world. A spectacular example of contemporary Islamic design, the mosque’s vast courtyard is home to the world’s largest carpet and the world’s largest chandelier. Easily spotted from most vantage points around the city, the mosque is an exemplary structure that shines with the abundant use of marble, gold, crystals and ceramics.

Set on the city’s western edge, the waterfront Corniche Road—a picturesque 8 km stretch—is home to a host of sheesha cafes, restaurants, white sandy beaches and playing areas for children. An idyllic spot for a morning jog, a laidback afternoon or an evening stroll, the Corniche is as interesting for food lovers as for picnickers.

The striking architecture, car exhibitions and a host of restaurants, shopping precincts and entertainment venues add to the cultural prominence of the park. An adventure-lover’s paradise, the park is also home to the world’s largest roller coaster, Formula Rossa that accelerates from zero to 100 km/hr in less than five seconds.

From the 305-metre-high Etihad Towers, the swanky St. Regis or the striking Yas Viceroy Hotel, Abu Dhabi is home to some of the most exclusive and extravagant luxury hotels in the world. Redefining flamboyance, these architectural marvels reflect Abu Dhabi’s opulent lifestyle.
