Run by the Spanish shoe company of the same name, Casa Camper is arguably the most low-key of Barcelona's top hotels. It's located in a pretty but unassuming old building in a narrow street in central El Raval and has just 24 rooms. Once you're inside one of these, Casa Camper reveals itself as one of the most pleasant places to stay in the city. Simply but comfortably furnished homes from home, each room has a flat-like layout, with spacious separate bedrooms, balconies and "mini-lounges".
To make things feel yet cosier and more easygoing, these lounges all have a hammock slung across them for - well, lounging, an activity also encouraged by the hotel's small rooftop bar. Coupled with a location that's ideal for both sights and nightlife, this attitude makes Casa Camper a particularly relaxing (if hardly cheap) base for a stay in the city.
