Year-end holidays around Mumbai
During this holiday season, look outside of Mumbai to end 2021, and welcome 2022 in your lives. There are so many options around Mumbai, that you do not really have to go elsewhere, except maybe to Goa. Who does not want to go to Goa? Maharashtra is home to some beautiful landscapes, wonderful beaches, and more, take advantage of it all this December.
Alibaug
This beautiful coastal town can be reached in just over 2 hours from Mumbai, and is perfect for Christmas and New Year holidays. Apart from the seaside charm, Alibaug is famous for the 17th century Kolaba Fort. Take up a nice beach resort, and explore the quaint little town by foot.
Ratnagiri
With the Ratnadurga Fort, and the Arabian Sea all around you, a trip to Ratnagiri is as charming as it can get. There is also a lighthouse that was built back in the 1867. Go to the Velas Beach, where turtles eggs, and hatchlings. Then there is the Ratnagiri Marine Fish Museum that is an exciting attraction for both kids and adults alike.
Goa
This is a no-brainer. Who does not want to visit age-old churches on Christmas Day, and celebrate the New Year at beach parties? That is just the best way to end the year. Goa is known for the wildest year-end parties, and those who like to be social, this is the best bet. Even better, make it a road trip from Mumbai, and you have a complete holiday package.
Lonavala
Located about 1 hour 30 minutes away from Mumbai, this is yet another amazing destination for a memorable Christmas and New Year. It is a destination that is blessed by nature, and is a combination of nature and modern facilities. It is a well-developed beauty where you can spend some quality time this end of the year.
Mahabaleshwar
Welcome the first sun of the New Year here at Mahabaleshwar's Wilson Point. This beautiful destination is heavily forested, and is perfect for a quick getaway. The destination is also quite famous for its strawberries! So you can very well have all the strawberries you want. Do not forget to see the Lingmala waterfall when here.
Kamshet
