The Varsity
An Atlanta fast-food institution that's been serving up greasy goods since 1928
Word to the wise: When the counter man asks "What'll ya have?" respond quickly in the native tongue. There are translations on the menu.

Popular plate: Don't miss the headiest onion rings in town, and wash them down with an orange shake called a frosted orange. (You'll want to ask for a Ring One and an F.O.)
It's kind of a cult. This retro, collegiate-inspired fast-food joint (Georgia Tech is just down the street) is as popular with the locals as with tourists. You'll hear people saying it's the biggest drive-in in the world, but never mind that - everyone here goes inside to order and sits down in one of the many dining rooms to watch the game.

The hot dogs are a little puny and the chili is pretty nondescript, so don't go for an earth-shattering meal. Go for the comfort of greasy food and the nostalgia you'll feel for your letter jacket.
