Ottoman tradition meets innovative design
Noteworthy for: The quiet streets of Çukurcuma are only a stones throw from Beyoğlu, the city's party central.
The first hotel project from the owners of Istanbul’s trendy House Café chain turned a dilapidated 19th century building in historic Çukurcuma into a design buff’s dream.
The 20 spacious rooms, spread over four floors, make you feel less like a hotel guest and more like the owner of a swanky urban apartment. Cool, calm and contemporary, they mix gleaming white walls, polished parquet floors and marble-clad bathrooms with retro chandeliers, dark-wood furniture and sleek sofas. There are no baths and the ultra-modern rainforest showers stand in the bedrooms – they have a curtain if you’re feeling modest.
