Noteworthy for: Malpensa Airport serves 22 million passengers per year, making it the busiest international airport in Italy.
Word to the wise: All public transport into Milan leaves from Malpensa Terminal 1. Passengers changing from Terminal 2 must catch a shuttle bus. Transfer takes 10 minutes.

Malpensa Airport (MXP) has two terminals and is 40km west of the city. For speed, take the Malpensa Express from Terminal 1 to Stazione Nord. Trains leave every 30 minutes and fares are EUR 11 for a 40-minute journey.
Two bus services leave Terminal 1 for Stazione Centrale. Malpensa Shuttle buses depart every 20 minutes and cost EUR 10. Malpensa Bus Express services leave every 30 minutes and fares are EUR 5.50-7. Both journeys take 50 minutes; considerably more in heavy traffic.

Taxis into central Milan are around EUR 90. Journeys take around 45 minutes; longer in rush hour.

Most international flights leave from Terminal 1, with Terminal 2 dedicated to budget airline easyJet. Shuttle buses between the terminals leave every 15 minutes and take 10 minutes to transfer.

There are designer boutiques and restaurants in Terminal 1. Terminal 2 is being upgraded, but has a café and newsagent.
