Follow these tips to see Milan at its bestDue to the preponderance of business travellers, hotel prices are cheaper at the weekend. And forget late February and late September, when the fashion shows hit town. You won’t find a hotel room for love nor money.
The famous sights of Milan are concentrated into the walkable Centro Storico. Most of the streets are pedestrianised, although that doesn’t remove the danger of a moped charging the wrong way up a street towards you.
Most premier museums, galleries and churches close on Monday, along with half the shops. The duomo stays open and the Quad d’Oro boutiques come to life at around 3pm.
Dress up for nights on the town. Milan takes its fashion very seriously and everybody glams up from top to toe in high-end labels. Door policies in clubs are discriminating: if you don’t look the part, you won‘t get in.
