What makes the area so popular? A smattering of the city's best new eateries - Gunpowder, Yeti, The Living Room Cafe and The Grey Garden - helps, as do the mini-boutiques, bookshops, and art galleries that are scattered through the lanes. Best of all is the laid-back atmosphere; here, visitors can expect less hassle than in other areas of the city, pedestrian-friendly streets and a few 13th century monuments thrown in for good measure.
The city's young and bohemian types can't get enough of Hauz Khas Village, so if you're keen to mingle with artists, designers and fashionistas, this is the place to base yourself.
