Quirky luxury in the heart of SoHo
Word to the wise: Locals just call it 'The Crosby'.
This is the first US venture from the Firmdale Group, who operate some of the most fashionable - and literally named - hotels in London, the Covent Garden and Knightsbridge hotels amongst them.
Its English siblings are known as stylish havens for the film industry and Crosby Street has been seized upon by a similar crowd. Although slap-bang in the center of SoHo, the hotel is unmarked: perfect for 'the talent' to slip in and out discreetly. There's a screening room, and the courtyard restaurant and bar buzz with industry insiders - Harvey Weinstein has been spotted holding court.
The individually designed rooms have all mod cons and there are floor-to-ceiling windows throughout, all the better to appreciate designer Kit Kemp's blend of bold colors, antique furniture and playful artworks.
