Navigate India's busiest airport
Talk of the town: An ambitious 2007 plan to relocate 85,000 slum families residing on airport land has seen just 500 people rehoused.
The domestic terminal (also known as Santa Cruz) is in a separate building to the international terminal (previously known as Sahar) but uses the same runway - you'll need to jump in a taxi or take a shuttle bus if you're not ferried over from a connecting flight.
If your hotel provides a free or cheap pickup service, take advantage of it. Getting a cab is the only other feasible option; ignore the touts and book a pre-paid taxi - Mehru cabs are recommended. Be warned, you'll be charged extra for air conditioning.
