With US FDA removing its warning last year, Indian doctors are recommending judicious use of hormone replacement therapy & women are opting for it. But it’s not for everyone

“I sleep like a babe wrapped in cotton wool. My afternoon energy dips are gone. My moods are stabilising…. I wonder why I didn’t start earlier.”

Actor Lisa Ray posted this on her Instagram after convincing herself to go for Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) at 53 last year, a good 16 years after chemo-induced menopause. She regretted the delay owing to unfounded cancer fears, and spoke about how women get “gaslit” into making light of their menopause symptoms while suffering silently.
