Thapki Pyaar Ki: Show launch

'Thapki Pyaar Ki,' a joint venture by SOL and Shoonya Square Production was launched in Mumbai on May 20, 2015.

The story revolves around the character Vaani Chaturvedi. Vaani has been rechristened as 'Thapki' by the society due to her stammer, which can be broken by a nudging pat (thapki) on her back. Even with her flaw, she aspires to be a TV anchor.

Cast of the show: L-R: Shubh Kalra as Shubh (Thapki's brother), Sheena Bajaj as Aditi, Pratiksha Lonkar as Poonam (Thapki's mother), Jigyasa Singh as Thapki and Shakti Singh as Krishnakant Chaturvedi (Thapki's father).

Dheeraj Sarna, writer of popular shows 'Jodha Akbar' and 'Kumkum Bhagya' is debuting in the TV show's production with writer friend Ved Raj, who is the writer of the show 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya.'

After auditioning numerous faces all over India, the producer duo found their 'Thapki' in Jigyasa Singh in Jaipur. Talking about her selection, Dheeraj says, "Certain innocence which we were looking for 'Thapki,' we found in her." Jigyasa, who earlier did a regional show, is all set to enter mainstream television scene with this light hearted family show.

Highly excited about playing the lead 'Thapki,' Jigyasa believes that there is hardly any difference between her 'reel' and 'real' personality. In an honest confession, Jigyasa agreed that like her on-screen persona, she too stammers in real life.

"The way Thapki turns her weakness into her strength is the most exciting part of this story" says Jigyasa. Jigyasa always dreamed of becoming a part of television industry. She gives the credit to her parents for all their support, freedom and love. Jigyasa is confident that as the journey of 'Thapki' unfolds with passion, compassion and humor; the audience will accept her as an actress.

The show is going on air from May 25, from Monday to Saturday at 7 PM.
