Telugu TV celebs make a beeline to Tollywood

Quite a few Telugu TV celebrities will make their foray or comeback in Tollywood this year. Here's a lowdown of what some of the most popular TV anchors and actresses have chosen to do in Tollywood

Anasuya
She came to limelight with Jabardasth and since then, there has been no looking back for Anasuya. After denying severalmovie offers in the past, the popular TV anchor is gearing up to play an important role in Sesh Adivi, Adah Sharam starrerKshanam. Buzz is that Anasuya's role will come as a big surprise for her fans and she has already begun losing weight andworking on her body language to get into her character in the film. Ravikanth Parepu is directing the film.

Himaja
Her ongoing TV serial, Koncham Ishtam Koncham Kashtam has become a huge hit and now, she's gearing up for her Tollywood debut. The actress will be seen in a deglamorous role in a socio-drama titled Veta Kodavallu. Directed by Babji, the film is expected to go on floors soon and Himaja is quite excited that she got a performance oriented role right in her debut film.

Madhulatha Reddy
After acting in a slew of short films, Madhulatha Reddy, who used to host a music show on TV, has bagged a couple of projects.While details about her debut film are sketchy, she's also part of an anthology film in which she's playing the role of a bartenderwho falls in love with a guitarist.

Shilpa Chakraborty
A popular face on TV, Shilpa has been hosting a lot of filmi events in recent times. The anchor will soon be seen playing herselfin Naga Chaitanya's upcoming film. Sudheer Varma is directing the film and we hear that Shilpa will appear in the film's climaxsequence.

Sree Mukhi
Three years ago, she made her debut on TV as an anchor with Adhurs, a dance show and in 2013, she finally made her Tollywood debutwith Prema Ishq Kadhal. Although she has been appearing in a select few TV programmes on and off, her focus, she says, is primarily on films. The actress will soon be seen in a semi-horror film, Chandrika.

Jhansi
One of the most popular anchors of all time, Jhansi has been quite selective about her work in films and TV these days. After a brief gap,Jhansi will be making a comeback of sorts in films with Kalyanram starrer Pataas.
