Google has introduced Gemini Spark to its AI Ultra subscribers in the United States, marking a significant step in transforming its AI into a proactive personal agent. Spark is designed to automate tasks across Google Workspace, connected apps, and even remote browsing, positioning itself as a 24/7 assistant that goes beyond conversational AI.
What is Gemini spark
Google introduced Gemini Spark, a round-the-clock personal AI agent. Unlike regular chatbots that wait for you to type a question, Spark works quietly in the background under your direction. It can search monthly bank statements to flag hidden subscription fees or check your emails to compile a consolidated daily update for your family.
“Gemini Spark runs on Gemini 3.5 and uses the Antigravity harness. It’s deeply integrated with the Workspace tools you rely on daily, like Gmail, Docs, Slides and more. Even better, because it is a cloud-based agent, Spark keeps working in the background even when you close your laptop or lock your phone,” Google said.
How Gemini Spark works
Gemini Spark operates through three key components: Tasks, which define high‑level goals like planning a trip or managing emails; Schedules, which trigger actions at specific times or conditions; and Skills, reusable instructions that teach Spark how to complete tasks. Together, these elements allow Spark to proactively execute workflows, monitor progress, and adapt to user needs.
Features and capabilities
Spark integrates deeply with Google Workspace, enabling users to manage calendars, RSVP to invites, edit Docs, build Sheets, and generate Slides. In Gmail, it can search threads, summarize conversations, draft replies, and organize inboxes. Beyond Workspace, Spark offers remote browser access, allowing it to navigate websites, add items to carts, or run code execution. It also supports research tasks, summarizing newsletters, and creating custom news digests. A monitoring panel lets users track planned, current, and completed steps in real time.
Usage limits
Gemini Spark shares the same compute‑based usage limits as Gemini. Users can run up to 15 tasks simultaneously, though schedules won’t trigger if the maximum task limit is reached.
