The move comes after WWE legend and senior vice-president Shawn Michaels recently mentioned about WWE mulling over a Mexico branch for NXT.
"Dragon Lee is a tremendous talent that will immediately add value to the NXT roster," ESPN quoted James Kimball, WWE's head of talent strategy and operations. "This signing is reflective of WWE's renewed emphasis on globalizing our talent pipeline with Latin America positioned as a focal market."
Inspired by Rey Mysterio Jr, Lee said he wanted to emulate the fellow Mexican and WWE great.
"I think I can become the new Rey Mysterio in WWE. I just need the opportunity," Lee told ESPN.
