"This was a great achievement by the Indian team. I am also proud of my daughter who bagged a silver in the Open Mixed Four category and a bronze in Women's Doubles. She takes the sport very seriously and is a member of Bengal Rowing Club and West Bengal Rowing Association (WBRA). She was at the RFI National Training Camp in Hyderabad since September 30 before proceeding to Thailand for the event. She arrived in Kolkata on Monday," Mayurakshi's father Milon Mukhopadhyay said.
Her coach Sudip Naha of the WBRA, who is an acclaimed rower himself, is also very excited at Mayurakshi's performance. He believes that the college student is capable of more and can do win more medals at international events, given her dedication to the sport.
