A student of Electronics & Communication Engineering at the Heritage Institute of Technolgy, Mayurakshi is passionate about rowing. She has already participated in several national events and won medals for the state.

"This was a great achievement by the Indian team. I am also proud of my daughter who bagged a silver in the Open Mixed Four category and a bronze in Women's Doubles. She takes the sport very seriously and is a member of

Bengal Rowing Club

and

West Bengal Rowing Association

Her coach Sudip Naha of the WBRA, who is an acclaimed rower himself, is also very excited at Mayurakshi's performance. He believes that the college student is capable of more and can do win more medals at international events, given her dedication to the sport.
