As per reports, Man United have decided not to provide complimentary tickets for backroom staff, physios and coaches for the showdown in Spain. The decision comes on the back of a sequence of cost-cutting measures at the club, including the termination of over 200 jobs. Earlier, the Jim Ratcliffe led management also put an end to the staff canteen, and instead, offered a free piece of fruit.
United boss Ruben Amorim, despite a disastrous league campaign, steered his side to the Europa League final with a convincing 7-1 aggregate win over Athletic Bilbao in the semi-final. The Portuguese manager will now pay out of his own pocket for 30 tickets for his staff and their families to watch the final on May 22.
As things stand, United are currently in 16th spot in the league, with a meagre 39 points from 36 games and just 10 wins to show for in Amorim's first season in charge.
