Haryana, Rajasthan win in Santosh Trophy

Haryana trounced Daman Diu 4-1 in a pre-quarterfinal match on the second day of the 66th Santosh Trophy Football tournament at the Kalinga Stadium on Saturday.

BHUBANESWAR: Haryana trounced Daman Diu 4-1 in a pre-quarterfinal match on the second day of the 66th Santosh Trophy Football tournament at the Kalinga Stadium on Saturday.
On behalf of Haryana, Pankaj Suri scored two goals in the 31st and 41st minutes of the match, while Abhishek netted two goals in 80th and 85th minutes.
For Daman diu, Rahul Barat (Jersey 09) scored the solitary goal in the 35th minute.

Haryana were leading 2-1 in the first half of the match. In another match played at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack under floodlights, Rajasthan won against Uttarakhand 4-2.
For Rajasthan, Paramveer Singh scored two goals in the 13th and 93rd minutes, while Narendra Singh Rathore netted two in the 38th and 89th minutes.
On behalf of Uttarakhand, Sishir Shah scored one goal in 5th minute and another goal scored by Rahul in 36th minute.
In another match played in Bhubaneswar, Assam defeated Sikkil 5-2.
